Just out of curiosity (mainly because I'm wondering if your total is higher than mine :p), do you have a number for your current year totals?

For mammals certainly, that should be at about 55 species now, for birds I think I am around 300. I haven't sorted my last Kenya trip yet....

12. Brown hare Lepus europaeus
13. Atlantic grey seal Halichoerus grypus

My first bat survey of the year was at what is left of Severalls psychiatric hospital last night. Even though the development work is well underway and most of the old buildings have gone, I still managed to see two new species for this year's list:

14. Common pipistrelle bat Pipistrellus pipistrellus
15. Brown long-eared bat Plecotus auritus

So I checked and I have a double entry for Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus, #7 and #27) which means my current total stands at 131 without the following entries :

Inside Rabat Zoo :

132 - Sardinian warbler, Sylvia melanocephala - Pictured
133 - African blue tit, Cyanistes teneriffae - Pictured

And around Casablanca's outskirt fields, there was a bird looking like a bustard too but I couldn't identify it and I have got no picture as I was driving.

134 - Montagu's harrier, Circus pygargus
135 - Collared pratincole, Glareola pratincola
136 - Eurasian curlew, Numenius arquata
