I wouldn't hold your breath too much - I imagine this will be a species which may be offshow as long (if not moreso) as the Aye-aye were, given the fact there is nowhere suitable for them to go on-display at present and construction hasn't even *started* on building such an exhibit over in Islands.

I'd be optimistic in thinking the tree kangaroo would only go on show once it's enclosure is complete in Islands.
On an unrelated note,what does everyone think of the new TV advert for Chester Zoo.
There hardly going to let it run (or hop) loose in the zoo are they....
Seriously - be patient. It will go onshow when they are good and ready. No amount of speculation will change that
More chance of seeing a blue-legged mantella. there is nowhere to put her.

Without wanting to cause any further contention, may I just ask how you are all so sure about it?
Name a place she could go then. It's the same situation with the Aye-Ayes, nowhere suitable is available right now so it will stay off-show until somewhere comes up. As other members have said, it would have to covered with netting and there is nowhere for it at this current moment in time or the near-future.

Only place I can think of is the Nissen Hut but as I said before please don't take the matter any further. When I said soon I meant in the near future not right away. I was wrong and I will leave it at that.
Look these guys all know a hell of a lot more about this zoo than we do! I trust there word, no where in the zoo is suitable for the species as of right now, just wait and they will come on show all we can do is be patient, I know it's hard trust me I use to be just like that but these guys have taught me a lot and I believe them, sure I'd love to see them on show but I am happy to wait for it.
How about one of the Hornbill aviaries at the end of the Tropical Realm?
I'd thought that as it would be a nice area for them or the but I'm not sure if the bird team have space or would want to move the hornbills off-show. But I agree, would be good for the tree kangaroo.
Couldn't they potentially move the turaco instead I'm sure they are housed in one of those aviaries? If that where to happen, but I doubt it will.
I thought Pipaluk was referring to the old Gorilla indoors
I'm probably mistaken I'm not sure on the exact layout on that area and the species inside it.
I'm sure they could find somewhere to house a pair of hornbills offshow and I'm sure 90% of visitors would be more interested in a tree Kangaroo than ' another Hornbill ' as I heard several visitors say at my local zoo last week! I know it won't happen, as all those in the know have said, but it could if they wanted it to!
I haven't been to Chester for over a year, but last time I was there, there were at least 2 large Hornbill enclosures at one end of tropical Realm, viewable on 2 levels. They may be the old Gorilla indoor, but my first visit was 1991 so not sure!
