What was the original species plan for the wildlife park? Plus how many of the species of the "species plan" are they still hoping to get.
And zoo giraffe I have an idea of which of those three they will be getting!
there are some pretty messy claims in that article.
I agree. Of course it is possible that YWP could become the biggest zoo in the UK, in some sense, eventually. But it won't overtake Chester in the foreseeable future, if Chester continues to expand and develope at the same rate as in the past few years.there are some pretty messy claims in that article.
I assumed from the title they meant the biggest in area, which would be feasible for a country zoo. (Side-topic: which is the largest in area? Whipsnade I'm guessing?). I doubt they could become the biggest in terms of the size of the collection itself (would that be Chester?).
But then he is quoted as saying "With the plans we have, we could be looking at 1.5 million coming through the gate. That would put us as number two zoo in the country behind Chester, which gets about 1.8 milllion. We could become the biggest zoo in the UK - it's incredibly exciting for Doncaster."
So the claim of "biggest" seems to be referring to visitor numbers, which isn't "the biggest zoo" in any sense.
The Visayan Warty Pigs are already there!Interesting. Sounds like it will be near the camels.
Wasn't that area supposed to be an Asian area? If it is for bears then that narrows down the possibilities.
Am I right in thinking they now have permission for Okapis, Visayan Warty pigs and now pending for (possibly) a new bear species. A busy winter of building ahead.

They are adjoining the Red River Hog paddock, didn't see how many, sorry.Where did they come from? How many are there? And where will they be put in the park?
