Please say you have a picture of the snowman!!! Also, does the zoo plan to keep camels forver or will they be going out of them eventually? I just feel like it's a species which may not stay forever. Also when will they make up their mind over those vivs in Monsoon!

I too feel like Chester may probably go out of camels at somepoint in the future (just like Twycross did a few years ago), it will be a shame when they do considering that Bactrians are endangered and Chester is well known for keeping mostly endangered animals.

while the wild Bactrian camel Camelus ferus is critically endangered, the domesticated Camelus bactrianus has no such concerns, contrary to what some zoos publish upon having a camel birth.

Ahem, Blackpool...

They have been looking for a collection to send a female camel to for mating, but nothing has come of this plan. They can't keep a male camel at Chester in the same paddock as the onager. Male camel v male Onager would not be a good idea

Does anyone know if the aardvarks have moved back to their enclosure and if the porcupines are back in with the meerkats.

Very nice to see birds other than penguins on Secret life of the Zoo, especially nice to see their Javan Green Magpies this week and Village Weavers last week.
The northern bald ibis, southern cassowaries and the philippine cockatoos have both been on the show before in the past.

Can't say I have ever heard "twin-wattled cassowary before" guess I am too young for that :p
Until relatively recently they were usually labelled as twin-wattled, double wattled or two wattled, probably due to there being single wattled in other zoos in the UK. Southern wasn't used and on zootierliste, the other names are given still!
