ZooChat Big Year 2018

A few new ones from today and yesterday:

BIRDS:
201) Common grasshopper warbler, Locustella naevia
202) Sedge warbler, Acrocephalus schoenobaenus

INVERTEBRATES:
16) European garden spider, Araneus diadematus
17) Small engrailed, Ectropis crepuscularia
18) European peacock, Aglais io
19) Speckled wood, Pararge aegeria

Heard-only were two Savi's warblers, which would have been lifers for me.

Not really an exciting follow-up, just another set of birds from my backyard and the surrounding area:

88. Chipping sparrow
89. Eastern bluebird
90. Northern flicker
91. Osprey (which I saw the same time as the grebes, but forgot to add)
92. Northern raven (which I've certainly seen this year already and forgotten to add)
93. Fox sparrow
As expected, I came up with two more identifications from my Galápagos trip. I didn't think I had, but it turns out I saw 10/10 finches I entered the range of. I didn't expect to, so I'm very surprised. I just wish I had photos of the one woodpecker finch I saw, and that a few others were postable quality!

94. Vegetarian finch
95. Grey warbler finch

Mammals
9. Red Fox Vulpes vulpes

Birds
54. Common Raven Corvus corax
55. Pied-Billed Grebe Podilymbus podiceps
A cool and rare species decided to wait out the blizzard in my neighborhood:

Birds
56. Rusty Blackbird
Euphagus carolinus (VU)
