I had a very successful visit at my first Twilight Tuesday - where the zoo stays open until 8pm. Here were some changes I noticed.
Eagle Eyrie - While I've known this for a month, I failed to mention that the indoor viewing huts that overlook the canyon are now blocked with mesh. Meaning the viewings to the eagles and the condors are no longer open fronted.
The new bald eagle exhibit is very beautifully planted and Griffon already seems accustom to it. If I can, I will make a small video on it tonight.
In Night Hunters, the hairy armadillo exhibit is still empty along with the neighboring potto habitat. Though that potto was moved to replace the Rat snakes down the hall.
Still no sign of the bamboo lemur in Jungle Trails
I got to see Fiona for the first time in about a year. She performed her famous dives, breaches, and barrel rolls, and even got into a friendly brawl with her mother. Was finally able to get a good photo of her.
The species list for the Flight Cage:
Laughing Kookaburra, Ring-billed Gull, Pied Imperial Pigeon, Victoria Crowned Pigeon, Scarlet Ibis, Red-legged Seriema, Nicobar Pigeon, Inca Tern, Magpie Goose, Ruddy Shelduck, Lady Ross' Turaco
