If I'm not mistaken the manatee doesn't count for this challenge.

Thanks, I'll remove it then. As it counts under miscellaneous mammals in the cup, I assumed it would do here as well...

No, I posted a list of which categories count for this challenge at the very start :) essentially every mammalian order present in zoos except primates, carnivores/pinnipeds, cetaceans, sirenians, elephants and ungulates.

As was also previously explained, the miscellaneous name was not chosen to copy the cup, but more to avoid needless debate about what constitutes a ‘small mammal’, as some would doubtless include nocturnal prosimians, tarsiers, small carnivores and mouse deer amongst them, but may not include kangaroos or giant anteaters.
Needless to say, manatees are a tad too big to count as part of small mammals no matter what someone thinks ;)

I think Bristol's rats may be from a laboratory strain? Black rat hasn't been domesticated to the extent of Brown as they have a more nervous temperament so far less suitable as pets. BTW with destruction of Shiant Isles population I don't know anywhere in UK where wild Black rat can still (reliably) be found.

To make it easier to keep track of things, could you please number these? It would also be great if from now on you could add your previous entry to this challenge in a quote above your new addition(s) :) thanks!

As an example of why it is useful to do this: you have added lesser hedgehog tenrec again even though you’d already seen this at exmoor!

I've added in his previous post as a quote.
