Suncus etruscus should be in the elephant/hippo house, the Tachyeres mixed with the Penguins and the Turtur are in the tropical house (free-ranging).

The two individuals of Turtur tympanistria are pretty hard to find as free-ranging birds in the tropical house. You should have good chances in the late afternoon, shortly before the house is closing.

Would be interesting to know why they don't take any more elephants. They claimed for years that they can keep a maximum of 5 elephants after they have extended their outdoor exhibit for elephants which happened in May 2019. They only keep two females since Rani died in early 2019.

It could be that they have to install protected contact first according to the EAZA elephant tag decision in 2019 before they get new elephants . Due to the fact that Zoo Karlsruhe claimed until 2019 that they reject "protected contact" its no surprise that they officially communicate the pandemic as the reason for not recieving new elephants now.

With the integration of 2 new elephants to Karlsruhe Zoo they have enough on their plate. It is unfortunate that speculation on the transfer of the lone Usti female cow Delhi turned out to be a fight in low waters.

Karlsruhe doesn't have new elephants. Jenny lives there since november 2009 and Nanda came in june 2016. There is no integration.Both are consequently kept away from each other. I hope one day Jenny can come together with her good friend Bala who lives in Liberec.
