Fair point. I always think there so common because of the ones at Minnesota. Which I have visited so many times that I think snow monkeys are common place at many zoos.
I'm not sure how many people have seen Montezuma Quails. AFAIK they're only at San Antonio Zoo, Toledo Zoo, and Elmwood Park Zoo.
No, I would call Japanese Macaques very common. Probably the most common Old World Monkey in US collections.
I believe the most common old world monkeys in the United States are Mandrills and Mantled Guerezas. Japanese Macaques are around 9th.
What makes you say that? I've only seen Mandrills at a couple of collections, though Mantled Guereza does seem pretty common.
I would go Mantled Guereza, seen them several places but never seen a Japanese Macaque.

The person who made this website has been to 62 zoos in the United States and has seen Mandrills at 9 zoos and Mantled Guerezas at 9 zoos. He has seen the kikuyuensis subspecies at 5, so if you include that it does make the Mantled Guerezas more common.
There are multiple Old World monkeys more common than Japanese Macaque in the US, including Mandrill and Black-and-White Colobus but the macaque is still very common. They're also the only macaque in the US with an SSP..

I would dearly love to see some of the mammal species mentioned on your list.
In particular both of the tarsier species, the bay cat, the black spotted cuscus and mouse deer.

My friend said he went to the Taman Safaris and was denied access to see off-show animals. We’re not sure if it was a language barrier or strict policy. Have you tried getting access there to see animals not on display?

I don't know which Taman Safari your friend visited, but, with the exception of Taman Safari Prigen, Taman Safari rarely published anything about their off show animals and you need to pay for the behind the scene tour (For Taman Safari Bogor) to meet the off show animals yourself. I haven't seen any of the off show animals, but there are few that I know so far:
* Black-winged starling (Acridotheres melanopterus) you can briefly see the starling breeding facility when you drive through the eland and giraffe exhibit. Some starlings are released around the Safari Journey area
* Pesquet's parrot (Psittrichas fulgidus) Taman Safari focus on breeding this bird, which one egg successfully hatch on March 2020
* Turkey vulture (Cathartes aura) a single specimen formerly used as a photo animal in the Wild Wild West area
* Griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus) retired from the Bird of Prey show, currently kept off show
* Dwarf crocodile (Osteolaemus tetraspis) few specimen used to be housed in the Crocodile Park, currently kept off show
* Silvery gibbon (Hylobates moloch) used to be housed in what now a Bornean white-bearded gibbon exhibit at Primate Center. Taman Safari focus on breeding this gibbons
not rhesus macaques and hamadrayas baboons?
If you’re talking about labs with the rhesus macaques than yes, but not in zoos.
How about DeBrazza’s Guenon?
What? That's crazy? The AZA LOVES macaques!
I can’t think of any zoo off the top of my head with Rhesus Macaques.
