This is fantastic news!!! 18 years is a long time but some great news in these uncertain and scary times
The baby chimp has been named Vicky, suggested in honour of an NHS hero who works at Cardiff Hospital:

Her mother Katie is classed as a hybrid chimp. She along with all the other females at Colwyn Bay were on contraceptives previously.
They held 4 verus: females Mabel (64) and Tuppence (33) and males Sixpence (40) and Groat (36).
Are these the current ages?
Of course, I would not quote them would I if these were not calculated back from year of birth up to today.

Yes, she is really at the top end. F.I.: The oldest Dutch chimp female Mama passed away April 2016 in Burger's Zoo at 59 years of age.
I know everything is now on the back burner (they just need to re-open and get revenue again ASAP) but I've just read an article(dated February 2019) that the new Snow Leopard enclosure "The Silk Road" was due to have started last year, is there any news on how they're getting on or whether it ever started?
It had been started when I visited in February - not sure how far along it is now.
I contributed to the project so get email updates now and again but haven't had one since January. That update said that work had started in December and included a time lapse video.
They had reached the half way point mid March according to the construction Company, don't know if have been able to progress since then unfortunately.

No, this is the 5th successful pregnancy of pair Ming Ming and Nuri.
And they are babies number 6th and 7th.And the babies were born in July but as said previously, have stayed in the nest box.
