ZooChat Challenge Global 2022

Mate, I can't wait to see how many sharks you add
Todays visit has probably yielded about 5 species. Not exactly an exciting total, and I don't see many more aquariums in my future so don't think the inclusion will do much for my overall total!

but I fear that their addition will only boost US members totals! I didn't comment earlier but the UK aquariums in general offer little,so would just have been sour grapes!
Not just the USA, pretty much everywhere other than the UK has a better variety of sharks (and marine stuff in general) so we're outclassed everywhere... UK title race again? ;):p:D

I for one will probably add zero for sharks as I refuse to pay £20 plus for a sea life I will spend half an hour in!
I understand exactly where you're coming from, which is where Carx bottles, cereal boxes, and crisp wrappers come in handy. At least one of them is usually running a buy one get one free offer for Merlin attractions. I also can't justify spending £20 for an hours entertainment but I don't mind parting with a tenner. :)

Barleylands is a bargain at £7.25!!

Yeah but once I've factored in getting there then it works out at not quite the same value for money. I do wish it was closer, some top quality species that I'd love to tick off my life list...

But speaking of value for money to applicable species then Birmingham must score high with an entry price of £6.75 and at least ten eligible for the challenge. Need to get myself over there as soon as possible now I'm thinking about it! ;):D

I will probably want to get there soon too!

Got myself to another aquarium today, with a grand total of one shark species! It was new for the challenge though so can't complain too much! :)

Chessington World Of Adventures - 29/01/22

16. Lesser-spotted Dogfish (Scyliorhinus canicula)
17. Indochinese Clouded Leopard (Neofelis nebulosa)
18. Bush Dog (Speothos venaticus)

Not a great haul, and did have a few no-shows that should be easy enough to pick up over the coming months but there were a lot of people there and there wasn't really much inclination to linger. Fortunately the missing species were foxes, armadillos, and servals so nothing majorly devastating or unusual.

Hoping I can get to some smaller places soon with some decent totals! ;)

So I have a question. I know domestics are not accepted, but with reptiles isn't this kind of a gray area as to what is domesticated. I saw crested gecko and leopard gecko at the Austin Zoo yesterday and was wondering if either would count for the challenge.

Good question! Here I would say unless they're very obviously a domestic morph they count. I will leave whether or not an individual should count to the player's digression.

Ok that makes sense. In that case I'll probably leave the leopard geckos off the list, but include the crested gecko. That one looked very similar to the wild form, just like my pet crestie.

Do Ailuridae count towards this challenge? Might be blind but I don’t see the family on the list of allowed animals.
