Most average Zoo Visitors dont know that the Pacu is actualy a giant herbivorous Piranha. Like the other large Amazon Freshwater Fish i have already mentioned you can also find the Pacu together with several Catfish or Arapaimas at several european Zoos and Aquariums.

The Red bellied Piranha is one of the most popular Freshwater Fish in Zoos and Aquariums. They are very popular even by the average Zoo Visitors.

The blind Tetra is one of the few Animals in Zoos that are found only in Caves. They are found at several european Zoos and Public Aquariums.

The Clown Loach is not only a popular Pet Fish it is also very popular in Zoos and Aquariums. They are often kept together with other colourfull Asian Freshwater Fish.

Unfortunatly Freshwater Eels are not common at european Zoos and Aquariums. The European Eel is the only Freshwater Eel which is Common at Zoos. Eels would be very interesting even for the average Zoo Visitors because of their long migration through the Atlantic Ocean.

The mediterranean Moray is one of the most often kept Species of Moray Eel in european Zoos and Public Aquariums. Maybee they are often kept because they live in the European Mediterranean Sea. Moray Eels are very fascinating Fish that are even popular with the average Zoo Visitors.

The Silver Arowana is another huge fish from the Amazon River. They are often kept together with other huge Amazon fish, Turtles, Crocodilians or Boas.

The Arapaima is the Worlds largest Freshwater Fish. This makes them very popular in Zoos and Public Aquariums. They are one of my personal favorite Freshwater Fish.

This is another one of my favorite Freshwater Fish. They are like the Arapaima very impressive and are one of the Most popular Fish at the Wilhelma Zoo Aquarium Building. Unfortunatly they are not common in european Zoos and Public Aquariums.

The Sea Sturgeon is endangered and so it is important to keep them in Zoos and Aquariums. Unfortunatly other Sturgeon Species are much more often kept than the Sea Sturgeon.

This is one of the more often kept Sturgeon Species. They can be kept in Outdoor Ponds where they can be mixed with other fish and even Penguins.

The bowmouth Guitarfish is one of the most impressive Open Sea fish. They are only found in Zoos and Public Aquariums with huge Tanks for Sharks and other Open Ocean fish.
