Doubled my total in a single visit!
I'm in LA this week visiting some people, and today I went to the zoo. Blue-Eyed Lemurs were a highlight. The Sifakas were also really fun to watch-- a keeper was servicing the exhibit as I walked by, and one of the younger animals kept climbing all over her and jumping on her back, which was pretty funny. Unfortunately, I won't be able to see any new primates until July unless a miracle happens. I've still got the primate treasure trove that is the Wildlife World Zoo to visit, and if all goes well this semester, I'll have two more primate-heavy facilities under my belt this summer...

I was going to wait to join because I wanted to do primates, but unfortunately (Due to a 7+ hour layover) I was unable to visit the SF zoo, which would've given me a nice start. I'll do lizards for now, until I visit two places with primates, then I'll probably switch over.

Today I visited the Philadelphia Zoo for the first time, and I think I probably liked it slightly more than the average Zoochatter. The highlight animal here was the Aye-Aye, a species that I have always been fascinated with but had never seen before. They lived in what was probably the darkest nocturnal exhibit I had ever seen, and I ended up spending at least half an hour searching until I finally spotted one. The hard effort was totally worth it though, and it was incredibly rewarding to spot the animal and to get a chance to watch them after investing so much time into it.
