Is there a preliminary species list for heart of Africa?
Thanks. I'm a pretty big reptile and amphibian fan too but I've never been disappointed by herps at Chester. However it has just reminded me, is the young Komodo dragon still on show and how visible is it? A young Komodo dragon sighting would certainly make my day!You seem to like mammals, there are no new mammal species on view, but the Phillipine Spotted Deer have moved to their new paddock at the entrance to Islands. Tiger, Jaguars and Okapi should be easy to see, can't say the same for the Okapi baby.
Young Komodo Dragon is across the path from the adult in Dragons in Danger, and was visible on my last vist 2 weeks ago. You also have the Blue-spotted Tree Monitor to see in RORA.
Since your last vist there is also Asian Giant Toads in RORA( I have not seen them yet), and Imbabura Tree Frog in Tropical Realm (not yet seen either).

Chester's bird collection is something I usually tend to overlook, something I intend to rectify this time, thank youSorry GiraffeJack10, I completely fogot to say there is a Philippine Chevrotain on show in Dragons In Danger. This slipped my mind beacuse they are not a new species for Chester.
Birds on show which arrived during the last year
Satyr Tragopan and Siamese White-crested Laughing Thrush in the owl aviaries. I've not seen the Laughing Thrushes, but I have heard them.
Blue-throated Piping Guan, Northern Helmeted Curassow and Collared Trogon (not new at the zoo but back on show) in Tropical Realm.
Mitchell's Lorikeet in Bali Aviary (Not a new species but now on show).
Brahminy Starling in the Peafowl Aviary.
Malay Crestless Fireback Pheasant in Dragons In Danger.
The snow leopard exhibit is due to open Easter 2024.For those who visit Chester regularly, how is construction on the snow leopard exhibit coming along? I've thought about visiting Chester again in September or October, but only going over the blue and green portions of the map, but I want to wait until the snow leopard exhibit is open.
