I was just going through some old images and found a lot of unknown identification fish from the Aquarium in 2013.
My question is, is there anywhere I can get a list of species in the Aquarium in 2013 please,
This would save me taking up a lot of space on the gallery for London Zoo.

There would be an an annual inventory (stocklist) for each year compiled by the zoo.. Normally made available to Fellows and the local Council (Westminster).

If you have the time to upload it, photos of fish would hardly be a waste of space in the gallery, so long as you rename them to the name of the fish in question once a member identifies them, I imagine. Although of course uploading images can be time-consuming so it is your choice, and as mentioned the stocklist is probably your best bet.

There is also the ID gallery which is there for these kind of queries. So long as images are uploaded along with the name of the institution and the date, this will help with ID (and aid in moving them to the correct gallery when an is ID has been given)

The new reptile house 'Secret Life of Reptiles and Amphibians' will be opening on the 29th of March, per the zoo website. Gold members will have early access.

Very exciting news, and it is also nice that the website shows the picture of an adult Mallorcan Midwife Toad, confirming that they will be onshow (previously there were only tadpoles, and seeing as their enclosure was only 'semi-offshow' I was somewhat fearful for whether or not they would be onshow). Hopefully the same will apply for the Iberian Midwife Toads, as that would make them the only onshow members of their species in Europe. Also had no idea how stunning the colours of the Mangshan Pitviper was until seeing the imagine in that link.

Gaaarrrr!!! I will miss it by a couple of weeks. That really is disappointing.
I think I know the feeling. I'll be in London the week before (20th - 27th/28th or so) which is almost painfully close, before heading hours north. I may have to try to stop by the day I intend to fly out from Heatthrow in April.

Anyone visiting London, can you report on how gorilla 'Effie' is doing with parenting her new baby. Looking after it well? Afaik London still haven't announced the sex of either baby yet?

Yep, I intend on being there March 11th. I was really looking forward to seeing the new house.

Is photography allowed at these previews? Would be great if one of the members could take pics for reference - otherwise I'll try and get through the gates as early as possible on the opening day to get photos that aren't too crowded :).

I'll be bringing my camera when I go to the preview but I don't know if photos will be allowed. Hope to be able to share at least something prior to official public opening :).

I've never known photography to be banned at similar events so would be very surprised if photography is not allowed this time. I will certainly be taking my camera with me to the preview but, of course, I'll confirm photography is permitted before taking pictures.

According to the e-mail received this afternoon, the Reptile House preview is between 1:00pm and 3:00pm.
(If you're a ZSL Fellow, I assume you'll have received a similar e-mail.)

Saw both gorilla Mums and babies today. Effie was asleep near the window and visitors got an excellent view of her baby. Everything looks good and the genders have not yet been announced
