In the past years Tiergarten Kleve is improving step after step and already new enclosures for Small-clawed otters, arctic foxes and owls have been build.
Now 5 old raptor-aviaries have been put down and in their place 3 larger raptor-aviaries have been build. At the moment one is home to Common buzzards, 1 to Harris' hawks and the third is still empty.

The Asian Short Clawed otters produced more offspring recently. Tobi and his sister which were born in November 2018 will soon be leaving the zoo and their younger siblings, 1 male and 2 girls born in August 2019 will stay in the zoo. This otter pair seems to be very fertile.

Lisa and Elektra, the Harbor Seals, gave birth on June 22nd and July 2nd respectively. The father of Elektra's pup is Jannik and it is believed she had a girl but the zoo have given them space. Lisa is believed to have a male pup but again the zoo gave them space.

The Common fallow deer (Dama dama) will leave (or already have left) the zoo.

Sadly male South African ostrich (Struthio camelus australis) Harry passed away on the 7th of December. The days prior to his death he was apathetic, examinations found that he had a kidney problem and a bacterial infection, he received intensive treatment for it, which sadly didn't help.
Tiergarten Kleve now only has a female South African ostrich left.
