A Mandrill infant was born May 24:

Granby Zoo greets baby mandrill as newly renovated outdoor habitat opens

Six mandrills live in a recently renovated habitat in the African area of the Granby Zoo, including one breeding male, four females, and the newborn, which Routhier suspects is a female. She said the newborn is thriving in its mother's care.

Do they mention where, there was always talk of Toronto getting a Jaguar from Granby, but I figured Toronto would want to do some renovations first. Will have to wait and see I guess.

In the post they only said, she will be leaving to join a breeding partner. Toronto currently have no jaguar and they plan on renovations. I think that the jaguar is going somewhere else.

The zoo employee voted for an illimited strike. The zoo, waterpark and amusement park remain open. The zoo decided to reduce the adult ticket during the strike(more than 3 years old) to 40$.

The mantled guereza is now finally viewable outdoors in its newly opened habitat. The zoo has 4 guereza named Zimwi, Bacari, Kizzi and Frida. In the comments, the zoo said they do not have plans for cohabitation for these two species.

The three snow leopard cubs are now viewable in their outdoor exhibit with their mom. We can see them this weekend. It was on their Instagram story.

I visited the zoo a few days ago. Here are some highlights:

• The rainbow lorikeet feeding and stingray touch tank are closed because of the strike
• There is a new toilet near the African Lion exhibit
• The African spotted-necked otter exhibit has been closed off, it is now a toilet.
• The rotation of the mandrills and guereza is one day for the mandrill then the other day for the guereza
• The gorilla indoor has now an additional space, it was the former indoor guereza exhibit.
• The guereza live now in the mandrill indoor space in rotation
• The South American area has changed a lot, there is new glass that makes the exhibit bigger
• The zoo still has a young Andean condor, that lives separated from their parents.
• The two Amur tigers, Jack and Simsa have been introduced together, so Winter 2024 babies?
  
• One of the dholes(male?) has been separated from the group.
• The snow leopard cubs have not been introduced to their father, Kang
• The Kinkajou in the Caverne de Debroullaird was not on exhibit
• The black swan(only one) moved to the African lake area, which is in front of the lemur island
• The two African geese moved to Oceania, it is where there was the former black swan exhibit
• The Aldabra tortoise has now an indoor exhibit, it was the former Dafina the African Spotted-necked otter exhibit.
• The aviary that had the bald eagle is still empty, nothing has been living there for almost 2 years.

For feeding, because of the strike, there is not a fixed feeding time but if you are lucky you may see:
Gorilla: Around 5:30
Hippo: Around 5:00
Almost all of these have not been announced on their socials.

On August 11, 2024, the zoo hatched around 60 wood turtles and has been recently released back into the wild.

On August 10, 2024, the zoo said they have only 2 ring-tailed lemurs at the zoo, Lenny and Zuri. According to the Toronto Zoo family tree thread. Lionel and Lasonia are from the Toronto Zoo
The 4 following lemurs' names are those who died: Ti-Puce, Remy, Lionel, and Lasonia.

Dafina the otter will be staying behind the scenes. The zoo might not announce her death unless someone is asking. There were 2 swans last year. In the African Lake area there is the Aldabra tortoise and the black swan, on the other side there are only ring-tailed lemurs. Brevard Zoo applied for the importation of Lua, the 4-year-old female jaguar from Zoo Granby.

There is also a recommendation to send Estrela the 4 year old female jaguar to Los Angeles Zoo from the Zoo Granby

The zoo noticed that Congo their male lion was having some problems when eating. They found out that Congo was diagnosed with inflammatory disease. Thankfully the zoo was able to cure him. That explains why I did not see a male lion on my last visit

On August 28th, the zoo announced they moved ~50 African cichlids (of various species) into the common hippo exhibit, with ~300 more fish planned to be moved in if the mix is successful.
