I understand they had a pre-inspection AZA visit at their request. Apparently AZA was concerned about their low staffing levels plus there were other areas that also needed development - behavioral management, enrichment etc. I feel it's pretty inevitable that these things go hand in hand with low staffing. I don't know about their financial situation, I didn't ask.

Any updates as of now or nah?
 
On January 24th, the zoo announced that a (0.1) greater kudu named Jolene passed away at age 8 1/2 due to an unspecified illness, a (0.1) ocelot named Lola passed away at age 21, and a (1.0) binturong named Boris passed away at age 5 1/2 due to a decline in health caused by heart conditions all in the past week.

On March 6th, the zoo announced they started raising funds to build a new reptile house.

On May 20th, it was reported that the zoo will get a $4.2 million plan to renovate the entrance area of the facility, adding in 2 more ticket booths, a new plaza area, and new restrooms. Construction would start in mid-June and will take around a year till completion, with a temporary entrance being established by the museum.
