Sounds like an interesting series! I'm particuarly looking forward to seeing the episodes on Blackbrook and Paradise Wildlife Park due to never having been to either collection, but they both sound really good!

The dates are wrong. Sorry for the confusion everyone. The first episode is the 3rd August NOT the 5th and all programmes are on two days earlier than I listed.

So new programmes are
12th August
Blackpool Zoo - Building an aarvark enclosure; the first lion cubs born for 25 years.

13th August
Drusillas Zoo -Huimboldt's Penguin chicks; Rockhopper Penguin with an eye injury.

14th August
Whipsnade Zoo - Corncrake breeding programme, Mya the Asian Elephand is pregnant.

Mya the elephant is pregnant? Surely that must be a typo as in the ZSL annual review for 2008 they said that Karishma was pregnant and due in April 2010 or does this mean that Mya is also pregnant....

sorry my mistake...just read in the tv guide that it is about her AI attempts

This is the description!
Wildlife documentary series. Michaela arrives at Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire to learn about a pioneering conservation programme to protect one of Britain's most threatened birds - the corncrake. In the elephant house, it is a tense time for 27-year-old female Mya. Despite four attempts at artificial insemination, she has never fallen pregnant. Will it be fifth time lucky for the mammoth Mya?

Hi I thought it was on tonight.... I saw it advertised that it was from Whipsnade zoo tonight and you have to watch it then answer a question on the whipsnade zoo website to win an animal adoption pack!
ZSL Whipsnade Zoo on TV: watch and win - News - ZSL Whipsnade Zoo - ZSL

I will have to Sky+ it .... I would like to adopt Lucifer the dad of the new lion cubs at London Zoo..... they are really cute
or Maybe Karishma.... wish me luck!
Good luck for what could be a short term adoption!!
