Just go back form the Lisbon Zoo ...
Some news
- the cheetah enclosure is being built. I've no idea if the animals are already in the Zoo or not. It seens to be a very big one. It right north of the Okapis and on that Tapir enclosure.
As a consequence the 4 tapirs that disaperead. Perphas moved to another Zoo?
- The Chimps and the Gorilla were inside. Their outdoor enclosure was in mainatence. Previously the Chimps and Gorilla could see each other, only separated by water. Now they wont see them. Dont know if they have been "stressing" with each other or just to give more privacy to each specie.
- There are 2 okapis in Lisbon. The female and a male (that looked younger). Today the male was out and looking good. The female was inside.
- There were 4 Koalas in exibit
- Some babies everywhere and many hoofstock looked pregnant
I especially enjoyed seing newborn Pied Tamarin (Saguinus bicolor).
Any news about new indian rhinos from Dvur Kralove zoo in Czech Republic with photos.
will be thankful
They were out today. They seemed very relaxed and enjoyen themselfs.
They are on the north of their enclosure (the new part). On the middle there was another Indian and on the south the male, I think.

I would be very interested if you can discover (maybe ask a keeper?) whether Nasibu is mating any of the females and if so which (my guess would be the youngest one- Anguka.) This will immediately give a reliable indication if Lisbon have good hope of breeding Gorillas or not.
Unfortunallu, I cannot say anything. The Chimps and Gorrilas were inside. I did spend some time watching him from the glass and he does act like THE male and was the only showing off and "facing" us.
He's not yet "full silver back" but does impress.
Yet, I have no info if he has been breeding or not.
Going to post some pics
