...and it will be interesting to see what impact the opening of GSO has on the Aquarium/SWW attraction. undoubtably, this is the Southern Hemisphere's premier marine mammal display, and its a very 'marketable' exhibit......

Sydney's Taronga Zoo has opened its brand new $54 million Great Southern Oceans display - the largest building project in zoo's 91 year history. The 1.2-hectare oceanic life exhibit showcases wildlife from Australia's 60,000 kilometres of coastline, including sea lions, seals, penguins and pelicans. Visitors to state-of-the-art exhibit come face-to-face with the animals in surroundings that mimic their natural habitats. The exhibition hosts 56 animals and the Australian Marine Mammal Research Centre. Great Southern Oceans is part of Taronga and Western Plains Zoo's 12-year, $225 million redevelopment plan.
I've asked this question before but no Aussie has provided an answer. If Taronga's annual attendance is usually hovering somewhere around 1.2 million, then what are the figures for the Sydney Aquarium and Sydney Wildlife World?
