I have a new least favourite movie ever. I should warn you that there will be spoilers in this comment but seeing as the movie is so terrible I don't feel any remorse in giving anything away. In fact, I feel like I'm doing you all a service by making sure you won't have to watch it. I've never been a Nicholas Cage fan but my mum is (don't ask). So we watched The Season of the Witch. There is not a single good aspect about this movie. Women come off pretty badly in it. There is one female character...who turns out to be a man anyway. The acting is terrible, the sets are reminiscent of The Princess Bride (ok for a kids movie in the 90's but not for an action movie made in the last couple of years), the story seems like it was written by a ten year old who just kept adding things to make it longer, and every character is so dry and lifeless.
Another recent one is The Immortals. It was made by the same people as 300 so that should've been a big enough warning as to the quality of this movie but I had free tickets so I went anyway. Even James McAvoy can't help to make it any better.
I've still only seen the first Transformers and it sounds like I'm not missing anything by not seeing the later installments.
Is there a best movies thread anywhere? I went to see We Need to Talk About Kevin recently and I think it is one of my favourite movies ever. I loved it! (maybe Tilda Swinton is to blame).
