Chlidonias Goes To Asia, part three: 2013-2014

Singapore was originally going to be at the start of the trip (reached via Melbourne or Sydney) but I rearranged everything and now I'm not sure when Singapore will feature. I will definitely get there sometime during the trip.

I'm going to Singapore tomorrow for four days (second visit this year :D) so don't suppose I'll see you there.

Ooh I quite like travel blogs. By my calculations, you should once again be overseas on your birthday. Is this the big four oh?
the big three nine actually. I shall juuuuuust squeak in to being overseas on my birthday. And on that day I shall be looking for spoonbills.

nope, tomorrow and the next day are my last two days of work ever. For a while.

I think that you will be visiting Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Taiwan, and the Phillipines. Am I right or am I right? :D

I would also like to add Myanmar to my list as a wildcard. I think that by visiting Burma, you will be the envy of every Zoochatter.

But hang on: if you quit your job, where will you work when you get back? Unless, you don't plan to come back to NZ? Ooh exciting exciting!

I shall do my best for a marbled cat, just for you. On this trip I may possibly be in as many as ten countries within marbled cat range. So, yeah, basically just a matter of luck!

Speculating is a lot of the fun but this gives away a lot :). There are some very exciting countries in this range, including one that opened quite recently. And a lot of exciting species to search for, including many that are very difficult to find.

Will you try to visit the EPRC in Vietnam?

according to the IUCN page the marbled cat is found in twelve countries. If there's a possibility of me visiting ten of those then the game should be which are the two I wouldn't be visiting ;)

(I probably won't get to all ten though).

I'm guessing you won't be heading to Bhutan and Brunei. The former being restrictive on visas and the latter not worth the time since you'll already be visiting Indonesia/Malaysia. Am I right?? :D

This sounds like an extremely exciting trip Chlidonias, and an amazing experience. Very much looking forward to hearing about your exploits!

But how will the NKC cope without you? What will you do when/if you come back?

I'm looking forward to travelling with you. The last couple of blogs were very enjoyable. Enjoy your trip. Stay save.

Wow! That's fantastic! How come the thread has been closed, though? I want to know how sebbe's collection has developed!

Shall you be visiting Chlidonias? I don't suspect you'll tell us any more than you already have.

~Thylo:cool:

You will need to read the thread to find that out!

Enjoy the trip Chlidonias looking forward to your posts. And if you are bored in tracking difficult to spot mammals maybe you can take a shot at Rhodonessa caryophyllacea. As how difficult can it be to spot a large duck with a pink head?

Chlidonias goes...

Thylo [if I may call you that?]; you do realise the whole Myanmar/Sebbe 67 thing was a scam/spoof/not real?
