I knew exactly what it was as soon as I saw them. Slow loris!! Finally! It's only taken me eight years of searching to find one! And not just any old slow loris but a Bornean slow loris, which ramps up its Awesome Factor significantly.
that's how it does usually go, yes. It takes forever to find a particular species but as soon as you do, suddenly they are everywhere!!Comgratulations so you got your slow loris and got a tarsier as a bonus. I m happy for you. Probably on your next trip you will see so many slow loris you will actually want them to move on to stop bothering you when you look for ferret-badgers.

Are those two guys going to a special hell when they die where someone is going to be screaming COME HERE COME HERE COME HERE COME HERE COME HERE COME HERE COME HERE COME HERE at their face for all of eternity. Yes they are.
perhaps, if I stood there shining a light in an animal's face for twelve hours straight....i wonder if you go if there will be someone shining a spot light in your face at night.![]()
The Air Asia girl at the check-in counter was named Monaliza.
her smile was sad and wistful, like me....How was her smile? And it is a bit sad your trip is over. This was a very enjoyable tread.
I would like to be doing a zoo tour whilst there, but Australia has this thing with stuff costing lots of money. I'll be endeavouring to visit some zoos if I can. Mostly I'll be trying to do as many free activities as possible (i.e. mostly bird-watching). I would like to visit Moonlit Sanctuary though because I've never been there and I do like nocturnal glidery things. Are you going to be doing a zoo tour while here?
...and if anyone is wondering about tickling slow lorises: http://www.zoochat.com/25/tickling-slow-loris-146064/Chlidonias said:It wasn't exactly my dream sighting – the loris sitting a metre away on a branch blinking in bemusement, so close I could reach out and tickle its fat little belly while it giggled hysterically – but I'll take it!

It would be pretty cool to do a full zoo tour of Australia!!
Maybe I'll start a "Chlidonias in Australia" thread. It might be a short thread. Or just change the title of "Zooboy28 in Australia" and pretend it's mine now.
don't NZers only go to Australia to shear sheep because they can't get girlfriends back home?A NZ'ed coming to Australia with no money, thats not unusual. Without NZ"ers we would never get our sheep shorn. I will have at least 6 here later this week shearing sheep if you want a job.
