Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden What's Gnu at the Cincinnati Zoo - 2014

Is it still opening in July (meerkat and wild dog) and is the hoofstock for Africa on grounds yet

Meerkat and dog are opening in August apparently. The hoofstock area will open on June 25th but here's the major problem. The zoo currently doesn't have the animals (they have the dogs), and once they get them they must under quarantine for 30 days sooo.....

I was walking past the hoofstock building along the street and I heard a few bangs and huffs and could even smell that distinct hoofstock scent.

I'm at the dog exhibit right now and the lower right rock wall is cut off to where it only ends at the pool. And the right side in general lines up with the back of the meerkat's back wall.

The Congo Peafowl (Jungle Trails) have been replaced by Helmeted Guineafowl. A new species for the zoo. And before the new species comes in to replace the storks, that exhibit is now displaying Victoria Crowned Pigeon and White-naped Fruit Pigeons.

My mistake, it is not a Helmeted Guineafowl but it is a Helmeted Curassow moved from Wings of the World. Jungle Trails is now falling away from being a geographical exhibit to being a biome and habitat attraction.

I have a couple of question about a few things I heard after chatting with a friend who has just get back from a mini US zoo tour!

Does anybody know what species of Tamarins they are importing from Europe for there new Tamarin complex, and when they plan they on starting building work on the exhibit for a new species of marine mammal?

So the new species has been partially revealed!:D I don't know about the marine mammal part but they are getting Golden Lion Tamarins.

Judging from my time spent in Africa!, it will be open by June 25th. Here's what we have done so far:
-70% of the foliage planted
-Filtration for Wild Dog river done
-We need to build the left wall for the wild dog
-Meerkat dome tubes are done other than the tube itself
-Paths are 100% done
-Wooden Viewing Canopy has been added for the wild dog exhibit
-There will be feeding chutes by the viewing window (wild dogs)
-Lastly we need to build a wall separating guests from walking into Phase V construction
