It is interesting to note that the African domestic reindeer is now mixed fully with Hamadryas Baboon, Kordofan giraffe, Southern white rhino and possibly Grant's zebra. Another fantastic mix by Mr Gill! :D

I *hope* Jordan was making a joke about the reindeer being mixed with African species. Either that or he is on the fast track to fail any geography exams he may be taking ;)

Looks more like the progeny of a short-lived attempt by Gill to mix Eurasian Moose and Collared Peccary :p

Actually I think his Brush-tailed Bettong,Chipmunk and Cotton-topped Tamarin mixed exhibit beats that mix hands down!

The zoo´s main facebook page has announced the arrival of one male giant anteater, I imagine it will be housed in the south american exhibit but I might be wrong

0.1 White Rhino arrived from a collection in France last night as part of an exchange deal. In return, one of South Lakes original females, Tala left this morning to make the return trip to France..

Few choices there ...

The female Manzi arrived July 3 from Amneville, she is wild born and has never bred at Amneville.

BTW: F Tala was no longer cycling so a change of location might stimulate breeding.

The Giant anteater is actually being housed in the old Amur tiger/jaguar exhibit however I believe it's yet to be given access outdoors.

A visit from Friday confirmed a few things:

- They're actually four Arctic Wolves not three as previously posted.

- The Grants Zebra were not on-show however I believe they have since been put on-show in the new area of the park.

At one point, I believe I was the only visitor in the park due to the bad weather which had it's advantages as I spent my time with Pygmy hippo and Sri-Lankan leopards.

Having visited recently I believe another new arrival is a Southern Ground Hornbill. I failed to notice it on my visit two weeks ago so it must be a new arrival, incidentally the Hornbill is in the free-roaming area with Kangaroo, Capybara, emu, greater rhea, wallaby and lemurs too.

Clover | Summer Days tiny bit misleading that they hold hippos rather than pygmy's
I'm not sure I follow you. It says "Hand-feed giraffes, penguins and lemurs and get up close to tigers, lions, rhinos and hippos. A day you'll never forget."

How is that misleading when they do have pigmy hippos?
