I really hope so. If he is serious, He would basicly want a downgrade of the entire zoo and send away the pandas and polar bears. 2 of the most popular animals in the zoo. Elephant odyessy, Northern frontier, Discovery outpost, and The beloved panda Trek. Not to metion bring back the old outdated ugly elephant mesa, and monkey cages,
 
Woodland Park Zoo


1. Turn former Elephant Forest into Unicorns of Nepal, a state-of-the-art habitat for Indian rhinoceroses. Add babirusas, gaurs, Komodo dragons, gibbons and nilgais.

2. Reopen Day and Night exhibit.

3. Turn Temperate Forest into Peaks of Tibet, an immersive exhibit with snow leopards, red pandas, cranes, takin and Bactrian camels.

4. Move hippos to new exhibit and turn their old one into a kopje featuring meerkats, bat-eared foxes, crested porcupines, hyraxes and dik-diks. Add an exhibit for African birds to the area as well.

5. Turn Adaptations into an aviary.

Point Defiance Zoo

3. Build polar bear complex incorporating and re-theming Stellar Cove.

4. Renovate penguin exhibit, making it more immersive.

5. Build Siberia next to the Education Center to provide state-of-the-art habitats to Amur leopards and tigers.





Sacramento Zoo


1. Phase out orangutans to build a larger, more naturalistic state-of-the-art habitat for a troop of chimpanzees.

3. Knock down the grottos and build two habitats: a savanna one for lions and a bamboo forest one for tigers.

Sequoia Park Zoo


1. Add exhibits for black bears, cougars, bobcats and coyotes.

4. Add camels, guenons and prairie dogs to the collection.


San Francisco Zoo


1. Phase out polar bears, Indian rhinoceros and hippos.

2. Redesign Gorilla Preserve complete with a tunnel for viewing the gorillas. Include this as well as a new black rhinoceros exhibit as part of an expansion of the African Region.

3. Demolish all of Cat Kingdom for a major overhaul. Pachyderm building site will become an expansion of Primate Discovery Center with naturalistic habitats for chimpanzees and orangutans. Lion House and surrounding yards will become Feline Edge, a state-of-the-art habitat complex for lions, tigers, snow leopards, jaguars, fishing cats and clouded leopards.

4. Build a state-of-the-art Pacific Coast exhibit for California sea lions.

5. Construct a modern Penguin Island for African penguins.

6. Expand Grizzly Gulch and Wolf Canyon with exhibits for bison, condors, bobcats, otters and wolverines creating a more cohesive region.


Oakland Zoo


1. California Trail expansion adds exhibits for grizzly bears, black bears, bison, elk, jaguars, wolves, cougars, condors, eagles, bobcats, coyotes and sea lions.

2. Lion and tiger exhibits get renovated so visitors can get much closer to the cats with hoofstock in the background. For lions do it with a new exhibit for giraffes, African antelope, zebras and birds and for tigers do it with tapirs. Bring tigers near the sun bears.

3. Add pygmy hippos to the collection and give them a brand new exhibit.

4. Move chimpanzees into a naturalistic habitat.

5. Build modern, larger exhibits for squirrel monkeys, tamarins and vultures.

6. Bring back black rhinoceros and put them by the elephants.

7. Improve viewing areas for the hyenas.

8. Add cheetahs, Cape buffalo, greater kudu and impalas.

9. Build a red panda exhibit.


Charles Paddock Zoo


1. Phase out fishers and tigers, replacing them with ocelots.

2. Build nice spider monkey /titi monkey/sloth exhibit.

3. Add a decent otter exhibit where puppet show area is.

Happy Hollow Zoo

4. Move warthogs to African Adventure.

3. Add jaguars, Baird’s tapirs, pygmy hippos, okapis and Andean bears to the zoo.

4. Open a stellar alligator exhibit.


Los Angeles Zoo


1. Eventually tear down all the round houses at the zoo since they are far out of date.

2. Demolish most of the left side of the zoo to create Kruger region for lions, white rhinos, hippos, giraffes, zebras, impalas, warthogs, kudus, sables and possibly Cape buffalo. Create a bushveld environment and have the trail bring visitors close to the animals. Build it in three phases.

3. Build new exhibits for tigers and snow leopards, connecting them to Elephants of Asia.

4. On upper right part of the zoo create an Andean bear habitat showing the animals in an immersive environment. Add an extension to Rainforests of the Americas featuring other South American animals including maned wolves, capybaras, guanacos, rheas, cougars and penguins.

5. Add some trees to Campo Gorilla Reserve.

6. Build a nice exhibit for lemurs.

7. Add a Southwestern Desert section featuring pronghorn, bighorn sheep, roadrunners, peccaries, bobcats and wolves.




San Diego Safari Park


1. Modernize African elephant exhibit creating easier viewing and design more stimulant for their natural behaviors.

2. Expand Tiger Trail to have access to the Asian Savanna. Possible species could include anoas, tapirs and striped hyenas.

3. Redesign Gorilla Forest, building a state-of-the-art habitat.

4. Add a North America section featuring black bears, bison, elk, Mule deer, pronghorn and bighorn sheep.

5. Add Walkabout area with kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, wombats and cassowaries.


San Diego Zoo


1. Move clouded leopards back to Monkey Trails and Forest Trails.

2. Phase out Malayan tapirs from Tiger River and replace them with pudu.

3. Turn former Elephant Mesa into a habitat for giraffes, zebras and gazelles. Phase out rhinos. Habitat can be viewed from a boardwalk.

4. Close bear grottoes/ Sun Bear Forest and build naturalistic habitats for lions, warthogs and waterbuck, creating an extension of Africa Rocks. Phase out lions from EO and have jaguars use both yards. Also add exhibit

5. Add kangaroo walkabout to Austalian Outback.

6. Turn Children’s Zoo into an aquatic themed area with a new sea lion exhibit as the centerpiece. Additionally, there will be sea otters, puffins, fish and sharks.

7. Add vegetation to the elephant exhibit.

8. Tear down Northern Frontier exhibits to expand Polar Plunge with grizzly bears (including underwater viewing) and gray wolves.

9. Add another tiger yard to Tiger River.
 
Lincoln Park zoo
1. Rebuild the lion house, It will have bigger enclosures for Lions, Jaguars, snow leopards, Amur leopards, pumas, and red pandas.
2. Phase out wild dogs and replace them with spotted hyenas
3. Move the Grants Gazzelle, and ostrich back to the savannah
4. Sables would take up their current area by Camels
5. Move all of the colobus monkeys to African journey.
6. Add a drill to live with the debrazza monkeys
7. Create a primate boardwalk witch would have outdoor exhibits for francois langur, Debrazza/Drill, Howler/ Grey tit-tit, and Allens swamp monkeys
8. Have reindeer move into the white lipped deer exhibit
 
My "local" zoo (well, facility actually called a zoo, in a separate post I'll talk about the other place) is Sacramento Zoo, and while not pitiful, it needs some major updating and changing. For being in the capitol of California it's really not that great. It IS small, but just cause it's small doesn't mean it has to suck.

- First off, there is a row of old-style carnivore habitats home to Snow Leopard, Giant Anteater, Lion, and Sumatran Tiger. While these exhibits aren't necessarily bad, they are on the small side and are very ugly. I'd love to tear it all out and replace it with a solely lion habitat and moving the snowleo and remaining tiger out of the collection. The relatively new Northern River Otter enclosure across from it can stay.

- As for Mr. Anteater, I'd love to keep up with the pretty great Neotropical thing they got going on (Jaguar, Unstriped Tamandua/Green Acouchi, Plain Amazon, White-faced Saki/Linne's Two-toed Sloth, King Vulture, mixed waterfowl, and Thick-billed Parrot/Roadrunner) and somehow incorporate him into there, but dunno how to, exactly. Perhaps fence off part of the waterfowl lake that isn't actually utilized by the birds over by the cafe (It's thickly planted land here). IF space could be found, then a Tamarin/Southern Three-banded Armadillo exhibit would be pleasant.

- The zoo's African section takes up about a third of the entirety of the park. Over the years it's held some really neat things, but it could use a renovation. First off, I'd leave the current Coquerel's Sifaka and Black-and-White Ruffed Lemur exhibits, they've been very successful AND they look nice. Next up is a "band" of hoofstock enclosures starting with Yellow-backed Duiker, then Red River Hog + Eastern Bongo, next Grevy's Zebra and Ostrich, and finally Maasai and Reticulated Giraffe (there's also a side exhibit for Spurred Tortoise). The Yellow-backed Duiker exhibit is a *little* too big, but eh... idk what's even combinable with them. MAYBE bring in another Tragelaphus like East African Sitatunga or perhaps something bigger like Greater Kudu, I sincerely don't know. Sac Zoo isn't EVER going to get Okapi, so that's out of the question, unfortunately (obviously it's the best choice, but yeah...). Anyway, next up is a series of old-style primate enclosures - Chimpanzee, Sumatran Orang, Mongoose Lemur, and White-handed Gibbon. I'd move the gibbons over towards the Hornbills, which is really the only place they'd fit. Perhaps move them over into the Abyssinian Ground Hornbill enclosure (re-designing it, of course) The other two species would be fine to remain of course. I'd love for them to incorporate the same "Small Wonders of Africa" (Aardvark, Wolf's Guenon, Crested Guineafowl, Crested Coua, Straw-coloured Fruit Bat, Fennec Fox) sort of modern-style thinking. Species I'd choose, in addition to the lemurs and chimps, would be Klipspringer and Rock Hyrax, and then move the Ground Hornbills over there. Knowing how Sac works, an aviary would be added in (Maybe Golden-breasted or Superb Starlings as a part of it? Turacos in another?). Once the zoo FINALLY gets its Banded Mongooses, they can finally be in with the Aardvark and the Fennecs moved to a new exhibit, hopefully one that they'd actually be visible in. The Orangs should just leave entirely, they don't fit in and would be 1000x more useful in any other zoo practically. Their space I'd love to be rebuilt into something for Mandrills, Colobus, or other rainforest monkey species.

- Next up is the zoo's Australia section. While not a complete pile of feces, it's really not that great, and was actually very lazy. The Emu/Red Kanga/Yellow-footed Rock Wallaby enclosure is way too big and is a former Cheetah enclosure. While perfect for the cats, it's terrible for the marsupials. So what I'd do is tear everything down, and instead have the combo be in a much smaller (though ofc not too small) enclosure and bring over the zoo's Laughing Kookaburras, which currently reside next to the Red Pandas. The Tawny Frogmouths can stay where they currently are at, and I'd bring in Sulphur-crested Cockatoos and Black Swans.

- Red Panda Forest is honestly not bad at all - home to pandas, Koi, Goldfish, Azure-winged Magpies, and Impeyan Monals. I'd love to add a terrarium with Mangshan Vipers, but that's just because I like them. They'd probably be better in the reptile house anyway.

- Last but not least is a small area with two enclosures - both for Yellow-billed Magpie and Burrowing Owl (previously a Riparian Brush Rabbit was held here, as well). I'd probably only add Desert Tortoise to this area.

All of this being said, definitely holding my breath for their planned "Biodiversity House" (basically a re-imagining of their reptile house) to see what's up. I bet the Fennecs are moved to one of the larger exhibits, probably the one that formally held a large python species.
 
Reid Park Zoo


1. Do minor renovations to South America, making it a nicer area.

2. Phase out grizzly bears and replace them with hyenas in a naturalistic habitat.

3. Turn event garden into a naturalistic habitat for tigers. Add Komodo dragons, gibbons, muntjacs and blackbucks and move macaques over to create a cohesive Asian section.

4. Add pygmy hippos, dwarf crocodiles, spotted otters and meerkats to Africa.

5. Renovate the lion exhibit.

6. Add a small reptile house/aviary.


Phoenix Zoo


1. Build Asian Giants exhibit, a brand-new section devoted to Asian elephants in a state-of-the-art facility. Other animals in the complex will include gaurs, Nilgais, Indian rhinoceros, Preswalski’s wild horses, deer, langurs and gibbons.

2. Turn former Asian elephant exhibit into a walkthrough Asian jungle showcasing different bird and primate species from the continent.

3. Dramatically overhaul Africa trail from the lion to baboon exhibits and open new habitats for lions, hyenas, baboons, white rhinoceros and antelope.

4. Add more desert hoofstock to Desert Lives.

5. Add black bears and a renovated cougar exhibit to Arizona Trail.

6. Build a brand new jaguar exhibit in Forests of Uco. Move howler monkeys, giant anteaters, maned wolves and ocelots to this section.

7. Expand Desert Lives with Deserts of the World featuring camels, kangaroos, wallabies, aardvarks, caracals, addra gazelles, dingos and more.

8. Open new lemur exhibit.


Arizona Sonora Desert Museum


1. Open new exhibits for otters and beavers.

2. Add the long-anticipated jaguar exhibit.


Rio Grande Zoo


1. Open penguin exhibit.

2. Tear down Ape Walk and turn it into a naturalistic environment for chimpanzees. Phase out gorillas.

3. Phase out takins and use their yard as an expansion for a much better giraffe exhibit. Take out white rhinos and put a new, impressive lion exhibit in its place. Replace chimps with mandrills.

4. Completely overhaul Carnivores section. Turn it into an immersive Asian section with tigers, sun bears, Indian rhinos, orangutans, siamangs, tapirs, camels, markhors and Patas monkeys. Renovate Asian elephant exhibit to make it fit the theme.

5. Open Cold-Blooded Kingdom, a state of the art reptile house.

6. Open Pinniped Harbor, a state-of-the-art facility for seals and sea lions.

7. Add kangaroos to outback section.


Hogle Zoo


1. Phase out rhinos and turn their yard into another for African elephants. Add an additional yard as well so the pachyderms have more space.

2. Phase out orangutans and turn Great Apes and surrounding area into Gorilla Journey, an immersive, state-of-the-art habitat for the apes in a forested mountain setting. Possibly other animals such as chimpanzees, crocodiles, okapis, red river hogs and Old World monkeys will also be present in the exhibit complex.

3. Convert Small Animal Building into a South American rainforest.

4. Build a new children’s zoo with animals such as prairie dogs, lemurs, ratels, ocelots, wallabies and deer.



Pueblo Zoo


1. Slightly renovate lion exhibit.

2. Turn Ecocenter into a nicer penguin exhibit.

3. Close down Islands of Life and turn it into a walkthrough lemur exhibit.

4. Tear down abandoned bear grottoes and monkey island to build a nice children’s zoo complete with meerkats, squirrel monkeys, porcupines, beavers and yaks.

5. Build a new exhibit for black bears.

6. Add giraffes to collection


Cheyenne Mountain Zoo


1. Open new penguin and hippo exhibits.

2. Open Pacific Point exhibit for sea lions, seals, walruses and sea otters.

3. Add bison, pronghorn, elk and bighorn sheep to Rocky Mountain Wild.

4. Expand Encounter Africa with exhibits for cheetahs and a huge savanna for zebras, ostriches, warthogs and a variety of antelope.

3. Turn hoofstock yards into a massive African savanna complementing Predator Ridge and featuring giraffes, zebras, Cape buffaloes and a wide variety of African antelopes and birds. Have watering hole viewing areas to bring the visitors closer to the animals.

4. Turn Pachyderms into a state-of-the-art hippo exhibit further extending the African area complete with an underwater viewing.

5. Modernize Bird World.

6. Turn Northern Shores into the state-of-the-art Bears of the Artic exhibit featuring polar bears and harbor seals.

7. Tear down Feline house and build Creekside, an Children’s Zoo featuring otters, prairie dogs, nutrias, skunks and porcupines.

1. Tear down Primate, Cat and Aquatics building immediately. Turn area into an a state-of-the-art aquarium with sea lions, penguins, puffins, otters and tons of fish.

2. Redesign African Savanna by putting up muddy backdrops, kopjes, trees and watering holes to enrich the animals. Put more antelope in the main savanna. Open a brand new kopje-themed lion exhibit, a cheetah yard, an expanded black rhino exhibit and habitats for baboons and colobus monkeys. Name the area Lake Manyara.

3. Overhaul Wilderness Trek excluding Tiger Passage and Wolf Wilderness, building a state-of-the-art grizzly bear exhibit, an Asian hoofstock exhibit, a snow leopard exhibit, a red panda habitat, macaque springs and ibex rock. Name the area Northern Wilds.

4. Build outdoor exhibit for the orangutans connected to the Rainforest.

5. Next to Lake Manyara open Bwindi Forest, a state-of-the-art exhibit for gorillas. Also feature okapis, Diana monkeys, mandrills, red river hogs and pygmy hippos.

6. Open otter exhibit near entrance.

7. Add vultures, servals, klipspringers and warthogs to African Elephant Crossing.
 
I want to redo Brookfield zoo for I was not descriptive enough.

Fragile Desert- Aardwolfs. They could live or rotate with the porcupines. There would also be a new outdoor meerkat yard right outside the entrance.

Big cats- This would become a new complex called...

Siberian Ruins- This exhibit would represent the animals North Asia and Siberia. This would mean phasing out sloth bears and temporarily phasing out Lions. This exhibit would scrap moated grottos and have glass and netting instead. Snow leopards, Amur tigers, and Amur leopards will rotate 3 grassy semi steep yards. Each will have a pool, climbing rocks, and a cat crossing overhead bridge similar to Philly zoos zoo360. 3 hoofstock yards will also be included that hold Mongolian wild horses, Camels, and takins. There will also be a nice exhibit for Siberian lynx. The exhibit will have a rustic feel making feel like you are truly in an abandoned ruins.

Clouded leopard rainforest- tarsiers would share the exhibit with the Prevosts Squirrels.

Pinniped point- The medium sea lion pool will be redone for a pacific walrus including removing that strange rock in the middle of the pool that takes up space.

Wild encounters- Some of the goats would be sent away and replaced with sheep to create and diverse petting pen. A nice cluster of climbing logs would be made in the Australian yard for a Cockatoo as well.

Hamill family play zoo- A small tamandua exhibit will be built somewhere in the building.

Bear grotto- This would become a new exhibit called.

Pandas of the bamboo forest- This would be a new foresty state of the art complex for giant pandas. It would include 2 grassy yards with climbing areas. The yard closest to WE Will have a glass viewing window. Lastly a panda house would replace the beer garden and would have 4 indoor exhibits (2 for each panda).

Prominently feature the lake in the complex.

3. Overhaul Australia and turn it into Outback Adventure featuring kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, wombats, echidnas, emus, cassowaries and reptiles in immersive, interactive habitats.

4. Open Madagascar exhibit near the entrance featuring a walkthrough lemur exhibit.

5. Use undeveloped area on property for Gorilla Expedition featuring gorillas, chimpanzees, okapis, nyalas, bongos, Nile hippos, pygmy hippos, dwarf crocodiles, red river hogs, colobus monkeys, mandrills, guenons, leopards and duikers in naturalistic habitats viewed through tunnels.

Eventually perhaps try to mix elephants in with the hoofstock. Have exhibits for warthogs, wild dogs, bongos, mandrills, a kopje habitat and leopards along the way.

Philadelphia Zoo


1. Turn Rare Animal Conservation Center into Rainforests of the World, featuring naturalistic habitats for mangabeys, porcupines, sakis, tamarins, tamarins, titis, sloths, colobus monkeys, ocelots and birds. Have outdoor habitats for monkeys to rotate between.

2. Renovate gorilla and orangutan exhibits, making them more naturalistic and abundant with enrichment and climbing opportunities. Also improve indoor exhibits. Open brand new yard for each species.

3. Overhaul African Plains and turn its site as well as most of the South side of the zoo (excluding Carnivore Kingdom) into Impressions of Africa featuring giraffes, white rhinos, zebras, Nile hippos, okapis, red river hogs, cheetahs, African wild dogs, aardvarks, flamingos, meerkats, Nile crocodiles, klipspringers, wildebeests, impalas, gazelles and gerenuks. Have a watering hole exhibit be the cornerstone of the complex.

4. Open Penguin Point, featuring a colony of Humboldt penguins.

5. Open walkthrough kangaroo and lemur exhibits.

6. Turn Reptile and Amphibian House into Cold Blooded Kingdom, a state-of-the-art facility.

7. Open Asian Herbivores, featuring Bactrian camels, takins and Malayan tapirs near North entrance.

8. Renovate Small Mammal House, changing it into Small Wonders.

9. Add grizzly bears to Bear Country. Improve polar bear exhibit.


Elmwood Park Zoo


1. Open Trail of the Jaguar, featuring jaguars, ocelots, howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, sakis and macaws.

2. Open Tooth and Claw of the Northeast exhibit featuring black bears, cougars, gray wolves, bobcats, porcupines, otters and bald eagles.

3. Open hyena, wallaby and gibbon exhibits.

4. Open new alligator exhibit.


Lehigh Valley Zoo

2. Open Trek Down Under, featuring kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, kookaburras and emus. This will involve overhauling a lot of the central part of the zoo.

Erie Zoo


1. Tear down Main Zoo Building and open Orangutan Trail, featuring orangutans, gibbons, siamangs, clouded leopards, langurs and Komodo dragons. Have lots of enrichments and climbing opportunities for the primates. Phase out jagauars, capybaras, servals and caracals. Move lemurs, meerkats and naked mole rats to Children’s zoo.

2. Open new spider monkey exhibit.

4. Open brand new naturalistic lion exhibit.

5. Open larger, more naturalistic giraffe habitat in Kiboka Outpost.


Pittsburgh Zoo


1. Open Jungle Trails with pygmy hippos, ocelots, giant anteaters, capybaras and fossas.

2. Open Red Man of the Forest exhibit for orangutans.

3. Open naturalistic snow leopard exhibit.

4. Open reptile house.

5. Expand African elephant exhibit. Phase out cheetahs in order to do this.

6. Remodel black rhinoceros exhibit.

7. Move sea lions to Water’s Edge.

8. Tear down Tropical Forest to build Gorilla Kingdom, a naturalistic habitat for a bang of gorillas.

2. Open social animals exhibit featuring meerkats and prairie dogs.


Central Park Zoo


1. Renovate Tropics Zone. Add ocelots, porcupines, spider monkeys, mangabeys, caimans and other species to the building.

2. Open river otter exhibit.

3. Open markhor exhibit.


Bronx Zoo


1. Renovate Carter Giraffe Building so that giraffes have bulk of the space and facilities are much more modern. Add kopje complex featuring klipspringers, warthogs, meerkats, dik diks, servals, tortoises and birds next to African Plains and Baboon Reserve. Try to integrate white rhinos into hoofstock exhibits. Add wildebeest to African Plains.

2. Turn center of the Zoo from bison to World of Reptiles into Yellowstone featuring grizzly bears, black bears, moose, gray wolves, bald eagles, river otters, cougars, wolverines, pronghorn and mountain goats. Exisiting bison exhibit will be incorporated into the complex with moderate renovations and new viewing opportunities. Bear grottoes will be demolished and polar bears will be phased out.

3. Replace leopards in Jungle World with monkeys.

4. Turn former Monkey House into state-of-the-art habitats for koalas, wombats and echidnas.

5. Turn World of Darkness into state-of-the-art reptile house. Turn current World of Reptiles into a restaurant.

6. Add bongos and mangabeys to Congo Gorilla Forest.

7. If zoo decides to keep Asian elephants: Close down monorail and create a walking trail through Wild Asia habitats, naming the area Giants of India. The biggest change will be a much larger, more immersive Asian elephant exhibit with a breeding herd. Move tigers to Tiger Mountain and besides elephant exhibit have massive Asian hoostock yard with Indian rhinos integrated. Also create a large Asian style elephant barn providing year round viewing. Turn former Rare Animal Range into an African Wetlands exhibit featuring hippos, Nile crocodiles, sitatungas, lechwes, cheetahs, Cape buffalo, spotted hyenas, swamp monkeys and spotted necked otters.

8. If the zoo follows through with phasing out elephants entirely: Close down monorail and create a walking path through Wild Asia and opening a new complex there called Marvels of Asia. Keep half of the yards the same but on the other half create naturalistic habitats for orangutans, Malayan tapirs, clouded leopards, Indian rhinoceros, Japanese macaques and gharials. Add Bactrian camels and takins to the hoofstock part of the complex. Open African Wetlands.

9. If zoo were to get African elephants: Follow through with Marvels of Asia. Turn former Rare Animal Range into Elephants of the Okavango, featuring a state-of-the-art habitat for the pachyderms. Also include a large indoor exhibit to provide year-round viewing.





Seneca Park Zoo


1. Tear down main building and replace it with Primatess of the Rainforest, featuring gorillas, lemurs and orangutans/siamangs in naturalistic netted habitats. Phase out white rhinos.

2. Expand Step Into Africa by opening habitat for giraffes, white rhinoceros, ostriches, hornbills, elands and Thomson’s gazelles. Add red river hogs in a separate exhibit. Also enlarge African elephant exhibit.

3. Replace polar bears with grizzly bears.

4. Phase out wolves, hyenas and lynxes to build Asian Highlands exhibit for snow leopards, red pandas and tigers.


Rosamond Gifford Zoo


1. Open state-of-the-art gibbon/Asian small-clawed otter exhibit.

2. Open giraffe/impala/African bird exhibit where white-lipped deer exhibit is.

3. Build new lion exhibit where red wolf exhibit currently is.

4. Turn social animals building into a rainforest building where primates and birds can roam throughout the room. Have former lion exhibit become an ocelot outdoor exhibit. Include rooms for African, Asian and South American rainforest animals.


Buffalo Zoo


1. Phase out elephants. Turn elephant yard and surrounding area into a naturalistic habitat for gorillas. Renovate elephant house to make it appropriate for gorillas.

2. Open renovated reptile house now featuring Komodo dragons.

3. Open Himalayan Highlands in the middle of the zoo next to Rainforest Falls and overhauling bighorn sheep exhibit and wetlands. Feature tigers, snow leopards, red pandas, Pallas cats and Asian hoofstock.

4. Close current gorilla exhibit and turn it into a meerkat exhibit.

5. Turn bison exhibit into a habitat for crocodiles.

6. Open penguin exhibit near entrance.

7. Combine lion and tiger grottoes to create a naturalistic habitat for lions.

8. Overhaul hoofstock yards, creating African Watering Hole complex featuring giraffes, zebras, roans, addaxes, gemsbok, gazelles, ostriches, warthogs and birds. Incorporate exisiting spotted hyena exhibit.


Toronto Zoo


1. Remodel Indo-Malayasia complex. The cornerstone will be Orangutan Treetops, a state-of-the-art outdoor facility for orangutans. Tigers of Sumatra will be a state-of-the-art habitat for the cats. Also open new habitats for clouded leopards, babirusas, Malayan tapirs and langurs.

2. Open a Macaque hot springs.

3. Open brand new Nile hippopotamus exhibit with underwater viewing.

4. Redesign and expand outdoor habitat for the gorillas.

5. Open outdoor pygmy hippopotamus exhibit as well as a new habitat for mandrills and mangabeys.

6. Remodel Canadian Domain as Canadian Expedition and have it feature bison, moose, elk, grizzly bears, wolves, cougars, lynx, otters, musk ox and bighorn sheep. Make exhibits much more intimate and enriching than before.

7. Open sea lion and seal exhibit.

8. Renovate Australia area adding koalas.

9. Completely overhaul Americas section and open Jungle of the Jaguar, featuring jaguars, New world monkeys, giant anteaters, capybaras and giant otters.


Beardsley Zoo


1. Tear down predator row and phase out tigers and leopards. Build a naturalistic jaguar exhibit with an underwater viewing.

2. Build a new lynx exhibit.

3. Build Trek Through the Andes with new exhibits for Andean bears and condors.

4. Build Streamside exhibit with otters in a naturalistic habitat. Tear down Wetlands Aviary to make room.

5. Open outdoor ocelot exhibit.

6. Add elk and guanacos to the collection.


Roger Williams Park Zoo


1. Completely overhaul Tropical America and build the naturlastic, larger and much more impressive Rainforest Tropics in its place. It will feature species such as giant anteaters, capybaras, maned wolves, squirrel monkeys, howler monkeys, toucans and a wide variety of rainforest pscies.

2. Open state-of-the-art penguin and sea lion exhibits near the entrance.

3. Add tigers to Marco Polo Trek as well as a new siamang/gibbon exhibit. Phase out moon bears.

4. Renovate North American section adding grizzly bears and otters as well as expanding red wolf exhibit. Keep bison and pronghorn exhibit.

5. Open new reptile house featuring Nile crocodiles and Komodo dragons.

6. Open new habitat for chimpanzees near Fabrics of Africa.


Capron Park Zoo


1. Completely remodel lion exhibit. Phase out llamas and sloth bears to expand the exhibit.

2. Renovate lemur islands.

3. Replace leopards with servals.


Buttonwood Park Zoo


1. Phase out Asian elephants. Replace them with a naturalistic habitat for Indian rhinos.

2. Open Asian section featuring tigers, leopards, snow leopards and red pandas.

3. Open new exhibits for sea lions, otters and beavers.

-Any reason that you're putting a South American deer in the midst of an Asia area?
-What do you plan for the current residents of the Northern Frontier hoofstock yards, if destroyed? They are a variety of endangered species, most of which are underrepresented in America and breeding quite well.

San Antonio Zoo
-have you been here? Where is all this undeveloped land coming from? They have only 12 acres.
-what's wrong with the cat grottos?
Granted some could use a little retouch or species swap, but nothing needs to be demolished completely.

Dallas Zoo
-what would you do with the large selection of larger bird species kept on the monorail? What about the other species on the ride that you don't mention?
-you do realize, that while two of those areas are in close proximity, there are two exhibit complexes between that region and the Hill?
Also, the hill is used as holding/quarantine for large mammal species.
-why turn an exhibit with six primate species, half of which are endangered, into a walk-through lemur exhibit when the zoo already has an amazing lemur exhibit?

Saint Louis Zoo
-which otters and which crocodiles for River's Edge? It covers 4 continents so please specify a bit. Also, where will the jaguar go? There isn't really space in that region of RE for a large cat exhibit.

National Zoo
-There isn't enough space for all that around Amazonia.
-there isn't enough space for that on Asia Trail unless you create some mixed-species habitats.
 
@GraysonDP : Some input for Saint Louis:
- What's wrong with where the flamingos are currently? They have an entire naturalistic lake and are clearly visible.
- I agree with you on adding tapirs to RE: I'd like to see them add Malayan tapirs and gibbons across from the elephants, as there seems to be room left in that portion of RE and both of those iconic species are missing from SLZ. The rest of RE is pretty crowded though, as Jay has mentioned.
- I also agree that a renovation and expansion of the Primate House would be welcomed.
- Where in the zoo would a wolf exhibit go? Also, where would bonobos fit in Fragile Forest? Also, is it necessary for SLZ to have both bonobos and chimpanzees?

Input regarding Scovill, Henson Robinson, and Peoria:
- Scovill already has exhibits for alligators and prairie dogs; where would the cougar exhibit go? The wallaby enclosures have nowhere to expand; they are entirely surrounded by pathways and other exhibits.
- Henson Robinson has already phased out Asiatic black bears; I don't know what occupies the exhibit now but I highly doubt it would be a bobcat, due to the size of the enclosure, the fact that it's open-topped, and the fact that there is already a bobcat enclosure there. Some other suggestions would be muntjacs (already over there); some other deer or duiker; cranes; Japanese macaques; and American black bears (I guess this one would make the most sense).
- Peoria has already phased out sea lions; an alternate idea to otters would be penguins, an idea that I believe the zoo has suggested as a possibility.

Input regarding Indianapolis:
- What's wrong with the lion enclosure? If anything, I'd rather see the baboon enclosure expanded and improved.
- Where would manatees go in Oceans? Perhaps they could replace the dolphins somehow? (I doubt it)
- Where would any of those species go in Deserts?
- Arctic foxes are a rather small species to take over the entire polar bear enclosure, although honestly I'm at a bit of a loss on what they should do with it. It may not be the best polar bear enclosure, but I can't think of any replacement species that makes sense. Probably best to just tear it down and replace it with something else entirely (maybe your manatees? In reality though, I doubt it)
- I would overhaul the bear exhibit in Forests, but beyond that I think the other enclosures are fine and I'd rather see them add more Asian species than overhaul the whole thing for African animals (who would be less cold tolerant than some of the species they have now). Some ideas include: cranes, Japanese macaque, Pallas's cat, snow leopard (perhaps could replace the bears), Komodo dragons, and an Asian rainforest building with birds, turtles, and bats.

Input regarding Cincinnati:
- I don't think the Reptile House is big enough to serve as a restaurant
 
@jayjds2 : where did you get 12 acres for San Antonio? The two numbers I see online are 35 and 56/57, neither of which is even close to that.
