1978-Gorilla World

One of the first, largest naturalistic ape exhibit in the world. It looks much nicer now, it is lush and has many waterfalls. It is now home to about 8 gorillas. When it opened, it was named the Outdoor Gorilla Exhibit, I'm not sure when the name was changed. Someone said that this exhibit held orangutans alone, but I can't see it because this has always been for gorillas. Unless that person was talking about them being in one of the the seven Monkey Cages that had to be torn down to complete this. That tall structure in the very back is today's Eagle Eyrie that was built in 1970.

Picture from David Ebrlinger\'s The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden: From Past to Present.
