this will either be Chia Chia (pronounced Cha cha) or Ching Ching. They we're presented as goodwill gifts from the chinese premier to PM Edward Heath as a goodwill gift from the chinese government to the People of the United Kingdom in 1973. they never bred with eachother (however chia-chia's sperm was used in an AI and fathered a Cub in Madrid) as Ching-Ching had severve Medical Problems, which gives us a lot of the info we know about panda today. In 1985, Ching-Ching passed away, so Chia Chia Lived alone until 1988 when he was sent the The Mexico City zoo. There, he fatherd cubs Xin-Xin and Chu-lin before passing on in 1991 Xin Xin and Chu lin are still alive in the Mexico City zoo, and along with bao bao in Berlin, are the only Giant Panda not owned by the Chinese Government.

This photo is of Chia Chia. It was a great shame that he never had a chance to mate with a healthy female iin London.

I agree, he looks like a magnificant indavidual, and the enclosure wasn't that bad (especially at the end when it housed bao-bao + ming-ming. It was planted up quite a lot) considering they're quite lazy animals, however, when chia-chia + ching-ching moved in they very often used the 'space frame' of the enclosure the climb about in:)
