3-Acre African Elephant Exhibit

With this spectacular exhibit I don't understand why this zoo decided to end their elephant program. Maybe it was budgetary concerns?

@DavidBrown I believe it was due to the zoo wanting to renovate the elephant barn, then the idea fell through for whatever reason.

@DavidBrown This exhibit was indeed spectacular for elephants, and looking at this photo it is truly amazing at how much foliage there is in the background without any mock-rock 'river-banks' anywhere in sight. Many of the barriers are hidden from view and at the time Nashville Zoo had one of the best elephant enclosures I'd ever seen.
