Valley of the Kings received a lot of press a couple of years ago but the new additions to Knoxville Zoo are really not that spectacular. The Hamadryas baboon exhibit is certainly large (much like the nearby chimpanzee and gorilla enclosures) but nothing earth-shattering in terms of design and there are lots of buildings and fencing in all directions. The lion exhibit is also average at best in comparison to the many truly great habitats for that species scattered across American zoos.
On a side note, is Knoxville still attempting to build a world-class Reptile House? The collection there is impressive, but the terrariums are badly outdated.
