5/28/2014 - Former Warthog Exhibit

Unfortunately, our last warthog died last year. After talking to a keeper, I was told a new species will move in after renovations are completed.

What?! :) Were by any chance told which species, or when the renovations will be done?

I was told by the keeper what the new species is; however because nothing has been made public yet, I don't want to reveal what it is just yet. I will, however, say that it is a species that Milwaukee has never exhibited before.

Also, the animals have arrived and are in quarantine. I'll be visiting again tomorrow to check on the renovation progress.

It probably is Red River Hogs. You don't have to confirm or deny. I just suspect that as they have similar needs and are plentiful in zoos.

Ooo! Now I'm at the edge of my seat! Could we get a hint? Is it from Africa?
