Jag Exhibit
Now that the foliage is starting to grow in more this exhibit is looking a lot better. I would place this enclosure as the third best jaguar exhibit after Woodland Park as first and Jacksonville as second. Miami makes a good fourth.

Have you been to see it in person yet, BlackRhino? I'm not trying to pick a fight here, just honestly curious.

No I have not seen it in person, neither have I seen Jaguar Cove at WPZ, but generally photos don't lie although they can be misleading. Since this enclosure is over 2500 square feet it is roughly the same size as the Amur Leopard exhibit in Minnesota which I have heard is the best display of leopards in the country. From that, and the fact that this exhibit offers plenty of climbing/resting opportunities for the jaguar and it has a fish launcher (something not too many zoos offer) I am inferring that it is a great exhibit for jaguars.

I would say the worst part of this exhibit other than the lack of developed foliage is that the road is on the back side of it which kills the chance of having a good background to this exhibit. I don't care about that as much as some on here do, but that's why I mentioned the bus causing problems on the other thread.

Although I did get a better view by going to the back of the exhibit, which apparently you aren't supposed to do.

BTW, there's also a small indoor section with a glass window to the left of the picture and apparently they'll have access to the top of the building at times as well, people in the bus can see that according to someone else who posted.

While we are ranking jaguar exhibits, how would Palm Beach, Audubon, and Philadelphia fit into this ranking. Those all seem to me like they could be pretty good jaguar exhibits.

I liked this exhibit because of the size, but I didn't like the fact that it looked like a desert.

I think once the plants grow in, it will be pretty nice. While we're ranking, St Louis has a pretty good jaguar exhibit - very large (perhaps biggest around?) and totally open, no fences or windows to block view. Very large pool too.
