Part of the bigger of the two indoor exhibits for pygmy hippopotami (Choeropsis liberiensis liberiensis) inside the African Tropical House in The African Village in Aalborg Zoo.
Free-ranging amongst the vegetation are livingston’s turacos (Tauraco livingstonii) and eastern paradise whydahs (Vidua paradisaea) and in the pool live North African catfish (Clarias gariepinus).

The African Village opened in 2006 and is the biggest project in Aalborg Zoo’s history. It features wildlife from the African savannahs and wetlands.
