The map Aalborg Zoo, one of the most important zoos in Denmark. The zoo opened in 1935 and spans an area of 8,5 acres (3,5 hectares). The zoo has approximately 1200 animals divided into somewhere around 135 species.
Aalborg Zoo was the first zoo in the world to be accredited with the ISO 14001 environmental standard certificate.
