With the new extension - effectively a smaller version of the whole exhibit grafted onto the end, which at least gives them the capacity to split the group.
The zoo has a very good breeding record with this species.

I'm not sure that even Disney would stoop as low as this particular enclosure, as Disney's Animal Kingdom has an amazing attention to detail with their exhibits. With Colchester there is a tendency to go overboard, and what is the deal with that clump of fake rock over the entrance? It is even uglier than the Flintstone crap in the striped hyena enclosure.
Those who use "Disney-like" as a euphamism for cheap, bad theming work, have apparantly never actually BEEN to a Disney park. If there is one thing there theming is not, it is cheap and unrealistic.
I nominate this as the single most hideous zoo exhibit on the planet. There's some stiff competition, I know, but this one has a real chance of taking the prize....
Sorry; you put this before concrete bear pits and other hurrendously small, dank and unsuitable exhibits across the globe? OK, it's tacky and a bit Sea Life, but you really suprise me in the things you say reduakari. Especially to be so narrow minded when you consider the things I've mentioned.

Well sorry to be so "narrow minded." I actually think I'm being "expansively minded," as I'm assuming that many of the older pits, dank cages etc. were built by people who didn't know any better. This monstrosity was just built by a zoo that can look anywhere (even the Zoochat Gallery) to get a good idea of what a decent exhibit is. And the best they could come up with is this?
Again, it's probably fine for the aardvarks, but it is so far over the top tacky that it deserves to be bashed.
