snowleopard 26 Jul 2008 The Detroit Zoo has a number of Egyptian murals (giraffe and aardvark exhibits highlight two of them) because apparently the Egyptians were the first group of ancient people to keep animals in captivity. So the murals are a type of homage.

mstickmanp 31 Aug 2008 good to see aardvarks outdoors, many zoos keep them indoors in Nocturnal Houses which doesn't let them dig like these aardvarks in Detroit.
