Abyssinian Genet (Genetta abyssinica)

The Abyssinian Genet is known from fewer than 20 museum specimens and had not been collected for 60 years until 2016, when researchers trapped and collected a specimen in the Foret de Day in southern Djibouti. Our group may have been the first to photograph a live specimen in the wild. Notice the gorgeous stripes on the back of the animal. For better photos and the entire trip report see:

Apart from being the "king" of Zoochat, now improving in registering excepcional rare animals without know good photos like the Abyssinian Genet!

There are many kings of Zoochat though! Happy to be considered among them.
