Acquario di Napoli - Flying Gurnard tank

Though dominated by the Flying Gurnards (fascinating fish), there were a few other species in here. Perhaps the most notable in terms of rarity in captivity is the Wide-eyed Flounder, but there are also some very large Flatheaded Grey Mullet and Painted Comber.

The other interesting featureare the Roman anaphorae, and (though in this case I'm not sure if its authentic or a replica) the big colum. Around the edges of the windowsill are also some mosaics which I am fairly confident must be replicas because you can touch them. However, the anaphorae are certainly real and around two thousand years old!
