@marmolady There were no colobus in there I could see and no signs to indicate there were any, so maybe they have all moved over to the other colobus enclosure connected to all the runways?
@Swanson02@marmolady They have all moved to other enclosure with all the runaways. I believe they moved a while back, alongside some of Monarto’s former individuals.
That's exciting to hear! They had been living in two separate groups with the Monarto trio in the enclosure with the aerial runways. I suppose this will be sitting empty until construction begins on the new Africa precinct (hopefully in the not too distant future!).
@marmolady I’d imagine they still may be living in two seperate groups (rotating the enclosure), although I’m not entirely sure. They won’t be breeding from the Monarto trio.
I remember seeing this exhibit empty on my July 2010 visit to Adelaide, which was shortly after Ambar died. It strikes me as rather small for a leopard, although more fitting for the colobus who occupied in the interim.
@Jambo Does your comment about not breeding from the Monarto trio refer only to not breeding from Charlie (the only female of the three if I'm not mistaken)? Has the situation with colobus at Adelaide changed at all since the recent birth of Jamila (other than the export of Kyoda to Melbourne)?
@Abbey I was referring to Charlie my mistake. Kyoda has been moved into a breeding situation at Melbourne, and Jasiri's the breeding male at Adelaide.
At the moment I believe Adelaide still has those six (Jasiri, Charlie, Amanda, Zamba, Adale and Jamila) but I haven't visited in a while (I'm not a local), so this may have changed. There haven't been any transfers so any changes would be a result of deaths.
