The male is old and somewhat arthritic and may not be doing his part in mating properly, so while they're a lovely couple and frequently have eggs, as zoogiraffe says, they haven't proved to be fertile. A shame, as they do seem to be a very bonded couple and it would be nice to see them rear a youngster.
