April 2014. The small aviary for this species is shown in the background. This exhibit complex opened in 1986 and several exhibits have been added or expanded since then. This exhibit is adjacent to the Kopje and was not part of the original complex.

Was it demolished? If so, good riddance, it was too tiny. When I was there is April, it was empty; when I was there last November, it was occupied by African pygmy falcon. If it is demolished, I suspect it is in preparation of creating a construction yard for the major work about to commence to construct the massive new Africa Rocks canyon. I sure do enjoy these birds though, I think the only places I have seen them are here and at Franklin Park Zoo in 2009.
 
It was indeed demolished and a garden is now in it's place, so no construction yard there.

I agree, this was a very small aviary and it did not do any justice to this great species. I just hope they continue to bring them out for the public to see just like they did last year when I was there.
