When I visited this zoo in 2014 this is what I wrote: In that same village there is a small building off to the side that many visitors mistakenly bypass when in fact it has a number of odd inhabitants. The species list: Zambian Giant Mole Rat, Black-and-Rufous Elephant Shrew, Zebra Mouse, Madagascar Tree Boa, Pancake Tortoise, Taveta Golden Weaver, Emperor Scorpion and Madagascar Hissing Cockroach. A viewing zone into the Grevy’s Zebra/White Rhino paddock is also here in the village.
