Lee Richardson Zoo is contemplating sending away its two elephants (aged 33 and 46) and there have been several articles describing the process during the past few months. Since the zoo has been on the waiting list since 2006 for a third elephant, and with not a single elephant available for the taking, it would seem that the intelligent decision would be to send the remaining two elephants away to a zoo that can incorporate them into a herd. As it is the exhibit, of which there are at least 5 photos of on ZooChat, is fairly small and the enclosure does not attain modern standards.
