Omaha has built the best lion exhibit I've ever seen, topping Lion Camp at San Diego Zoo Safari Park. The Omaha habitat is enormous and this photo (with a lion looking down at the entire zoo) shows maybe 50% of the huge enclosure. There are fantastic interpretative materials, another large mini-mountain and the whole thing is stunning. Yet again Omaha has come up with a WOW exhibit and the nearby Cheetah enclosure is also terrific. In fact, the entire 28-acre African Grasslands section is almost as impressive as all of the zoo's mega-buildings.
@Wyman Woodland Park's exhibit is not even close as this new lion exhibit in Omaha is massive. It is easily the best of its kind I've ever seen. There are huge viewing windows into a separate part of the enclosure, as well as many other areas where visitors can look into the habitat.
@snowleopard to be fair, Omaha has the advantage of space, while Woodland Park is hemmed in by neighborhoods and highways. They had to work with what they've got, same with Philadelphia's Big Cat Falls. Regardless, this is a very stellar lion facility, leagues ahead of the Cat Complex.
