African Hall - Rock Hyrax/Steinbok Diorama

July 15th, 2011.
This diorama also highlights the Cape Floristic Province from South Africa which is one of the most biodiverse areas for plants in the world. It is a parallel Mediterranean ecosystem to the California Floristic Province, the most floristically diverse ecosystem in North America.

It is cool that the museum is able to highlight African plants along with the animals. Zoos seem to be doing this also increasingly.

I think many zoos are making an exhibition, mixed with rock hyrax and small antelope species, similar exhibition like an San diego zoo's African Kopje exhibit does.
