Drills (Mandrillus leucophaeus)

Its good to see Drills (or Mandrills) in a setting like this. I wish more Safari Parks would keep big groups of Mandrills at least (Drill being much less available), in the same way they have other baboon groups. I believe Woburn are to get female Drills too so hopefully they can then start to establish a really sizeable group- which would also help the number of Drills in zoos generally too.

I don't really understand why Port Lympne don't use their woodland area to give their Drill group more space similar to this.

I don't know but apparently these male Drills(from Hanover) are all CASTRATED.. A bad decision in such a small captive population IMO.

I've never had damage above the level of muddy Patas footprints. So far (from my limited visits) the Drills and macaques don't seem to have much interest in the cars - the Patas are a different story!
