Three of these cages would equal the size of one BOH suite for lions in an American zoo! This was good for its time, but now... Anyway, the Eismeer renovation might be a testament to the direction this zoo is going, and aside from the polar bear exhibit's lack of natural substrate, it's a really good model to go off of. Simply preserving the rockwork and expanding the yards while also maintaining the illusion of connectivity that made the African Panorama so iconic should be the way to go.
