Oh cool, thanks for that. Without checking the map I presume its the exhibit that held otters this time last year, as that was the only one I remember with underwater viewing.

Yes, you are correct. The former otter exhibit in the children's zoo became the home for a couple of African penguins, although they were not on exhibit when I was there in April.
The new African penguin exhibit will open with Africa Rocks in 2017 (assuming that is still the planned opening date).
