ZooChatters sure are speedy when it comes to uploading photos of brand-new exhibits. Ituri, what was your impression of the patas monkey enclosure? Is it another step forward for Zoo Boise?
Sorry, forgot this was here! The patas monkey exhibit is a definite improvement over their quarters in the primate house. They've done a pretty good job reducing potential glare, and the aesthetics of the exhibit are not bad at all. It also helps the geographic theming by replacing the on-exhibit Southern Idaho Ground Squirrels (breeding program remains behind the scenes). I do find myself a bit conflicted about that last part, because I do like having a more solidly themed experience (jellyfish notwithstanding) but the ground squirrels were an important local project involving an animal with an undeserved bad reputation, where education stood a chance to do some good.
